We welcome you to our country home situated one hour north of Auckland where we will ensure that you enjoy a relaxing, comfortable stay, whether it’s for a night or for a week!

Our cottage is a faithful replica of a historic Devon farmhouse, set amongst landscaped gardens, bordering a stream. Features include beamed ceilings, wooden floors, open fire and handcrafted joinery.

We are ten minutes’ drive from State Highway One, yet a world away in terms of peace and tranquility. The cottage is a short drive to sensational beaches, bush walks and the Matakana Coast Wine Country.

Guests are invited to relax and unwind in comfortable, rustic surroundings whatever the season. The more active can enjoy a bike ride, a kayak in nearby freshwater lakes, or perhaps a swim or surf at the spectacular Te Arai beach.

You’ll wake to the bird call of tuis in the flax bushes, or to the smell of a delicious cooked breakfast, which can be eaten either in the farmhouse kitchen or on your private deck opening off the guest bedroom.

We’d be more than happy to help you better explore the local attractions, such as regional parks, marine reserves, quiet beaches, and the local wineries, or assist with your forward planning. We are 20 minutes from Matakana Village, with its cinemas, restaurants, shops and wineries, or 25 minutes to the coastal village of Mangawhai.
